Atlanta Boat Show

The Atlanta Boat Show was January 10-13, and it was a great weekend! This is one
of our largest marketing events of the year and honestly, it is one of our favorites!
We have started to build great relationships with some of the other vendors over
the last couple of years so we love to see our vendor and marketing friends, but we
also love to see many of our clients over the weekend! Every type of boat you can
imagine is there and it’s fun to be able to work, meet new friends over the weekend,
and also check out some pretty cool boats! It makes us all want to be outdoors and
on the water. Is it Spring and Summer yet?? Even if you aren’t in the boat market, it’s
still a fun event to attend. There is an entertainment area for kids, and checking out
all the different boats is a lot of entertainment for the bigger, adult kids! There are
pop-up restaurants around the event, and also just lots of great vendors with great
products available! Come see us next time at the Atlanta Boat Show!

Small Business Spotlight: October

Each month, we want to highlight a small business that is local to our area. This month, for October, we want to highlight the Marietta Pizza Company! The Marietta Pizza Company was originally started in September of 2000 off of the Marietta Square and the second location, off of Due West Road, opened in 2007. Howard Wolfson, who has a background as a CPA, grew up in New Jersey, loved pizza, and started having a strong dislike for the grind of the corporate world. So he, along with co-owners David and Kellie Contreras, decided a great pizza shop and restaurant would be an awesome adventure! Eighteen years later, it seems to have been a pretty great bet. The food is great, the pizza is out of this world, and atmosphere is just really down to earth and fun. Currently, on Friday nights, there is a balloon artist available to make designs for kids so it’s also a family friendly place. Go grab some great food at the Marietta Pizza Company! You will be glad you did.

Community Activity

During the weekend of September 14-16th, we were all over Atlanta! We enjoyed the weekend at both the Suwannee Fest, and the Georgia RV Show. We love these events, and it gives us an opportunity to meet people from all over different parts of the state. The Suwannee Fest was a blast, with two days of family entertainment, shows, and over 200 vendors and exhibitors! It is definitely an event worth checking out next year! And we are thankful that Hurricane Florence didn’t mess up the opportunity to go and have fun all weekend! The Georgia RV Show was also a great success and it was fun seeing some our current customers that stopped by to say hey! If you ever see us out in the community or at weekend festivals, make sure to stop by. We always love seeing current customers and getting to catch up. We also love meeting potential new customers and seeing what we can do to provide the best insurance service possible! Coming up at the end of the month, on October 20th and 21st we will be at Johns Creek Art Festival. Make sure to stop by and say hello.

Awards Spotlight!

The Hathaway Agency has had another record-breaking year! Not only were we nominated for the second year in a row to The Presidents Council, the highest distinction awarded to agents, we were also named the #1 agency in the United States for personal lines. We are so very proud of this achievement! We are the first agency out of the entire East Coast to receive this recognition, and to be named the top agency out of 14,000 other agencies signifies the value and relationships that we esteem to provide every single customer that we insure. We are so thankful for our customers, and it is an honor to provide each and every one with the best service available! Whether we handle your personal lines, financial services, or both, we thank you for trusting us to take care of you. At The Hathaway Agency, we truly believe we have the greatest group of men and women that handle our sales and customer service. And while we may be biased, we also think we have the greatest agency owners in the world in the Father/Son team of Lucas and Jeff Hathaway! The partnership they have formed has been unparalleled in the insurance world and we are proud that they are ours. So from the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU to our team, and to our customers! We appreciate and value each of you! We are excited about the year ahead and look forward to breaking more records!

Pigs’n Peaches BBQ Festival

pp

In the last weekend of August, we had a great experience at the 18th Annual Pigs’n Peaches BBQ festival in Adams Park in Kennesaw, GA! This was our 3rd year in a row sponsoring this local event, and we even got our photo taken by local photographer, Chris Nowak! Give him a follow and check out his work on Instagram at @prestophotographer!

This is a community event we love to be a part of each year because of the opportunity it provides us to interact with our home town community. Our agency offices are located just 10 minutes away in opposite directions from Adams Park, and we always love a reason to get out of the office to hang out with you! We got to enjoy some live entertainment, make new friends and enjoy some world famous, delicious barbecue! If you haven’t been to the Pigs’n’Peaches BBQ Festival, make a point to join us next year because it is always a great event, and we love seeing our clients around the community!

#NationalNightOut

On Tuesday, August 7, 2018 we had the opportunity to sponsor Cobb County Police Department’s Annual National Night Out event at Jim R. Miller Park!
We were able to sponsor a GIANT circus-themed inflatable slide, listen to some live music and even witnessed live public safety demonstrations by our county’s very own police and fire departments.

HH

As an agency, we #BackTheBlue and believe it is important to find ways to serve the ones who work tirelessly to serve our communities daily. Though sponsoring an inflatable may be a small step, it allowed us to open a door to build relationships with the families in our surrounding Cobb County community, while displaying our public support to the law enforcement in our city.

As an agency, we believe one of the best ways we can serve people is by giving back to our community. It is our mission to build relationships before we ever open the door to selling policies. As a staff, we prioritizing volunteering together and we had the opportunity to serve on Saturday, June 30, 2018 with Passion City’s #LoveAtlanta Week.

We spent our Saturday in Marietta, Ga partnering with Must Ministries, offering up our time for any help they needed, in any capacity. Our team had a hand in sorting and boxing up food for distribution for families in need in our community. To say the least, this was such a humbling experience. We always look forward to these opportunities to serve our city, and we can’t think of a better experience than serving our neighbors.

The Promise Walk for Preeclampsia

Farmers is more than an insurance broker. Since the company began almost a century ago, Farmers Insurance’s mission is to create a meaningful impact and to actively serve their client’s cities and communities well. The compassionate, hard-working employees of the Hathaway Agency strive to uphold the corporation’s three pillars of corporate responsibility: disaster resilience, education and civic engagement and maintain this commitment through sponsoring and volunteering at charity events and city festivals regularly throughout the greater Atlanta, GA area.

The Hathaway Agency sponsors over 50 events a year, but their bottom line is cultivating true relationships with their clients, and supporting them in all endeavors. The insurance agency most recently sponsored The Promise Walk for Preeclampsia in Atlanta, and were the only corporate sponsor present on race day on the morning of Saturday, May 19, 2018.

“The measure of our worth is not what we have done for ourselves, but what we have done for others.” — John Tyler , co-founder of Farmers Insurance.

Cy and Jane Whitfield, of Marietta, are current clients of the Hathaway Agency and participated in their first Promise Walk event for the Preeclampsia Foundation this past weekend. The Whitfields have four beautiful boys, Josiah, Benaiah, Callan and Titus, and this lively family of six worked diligently in completing their 5K race and to raise awareness for a dangerous condition that can occur during pregnancy. Jane, wife to Cy, is a two-time survivor of preeclampsia. Her first battle with the condition occurred with her first born, Josiah and her second encounter was with her fourth child, Titus. The Whitfields are walking representation of resilience, and thankfully, have the beautiful opportunity of raising four healthy sons in a thriving community today.

“I know that our story is different from other survivors, and my hope is that together, we can all help bring awareness and that more research is made so that more lives can be saved,” says Jane Whitfield.

For more information on the Whitfield’s walk through preeclampsia or on how you can donate to support the foundation can be found here http://promisewalk.org/WhitfieldJane92#.WwIVZtMvxAZ.

The clients of the Hathaway Agency are first priority, according to lead agent, Lucas Hathaway. The sponsorship of the Promise Walk for Preeclampsia in Atlanta was in full support of the Whitfield family and the other participants who have been effected from this commonly overlooked pregnancy condition. Serving the community and creating relationships comes way before the insurance sales for this agency. It is not only the mission of the entire corporation to participate in consistent civic engagement, but volunteerism and servant leadership is something the Hathaway’s and company highly value and take seriously.

What makes the Hathaway Agency different is that its employees aim to be considered just another member of the family, who value and cherish the human experience and strive to make a difference in their surrounding communities, before being viewed as agents, marketers and salespersons. They dedicate time daily to communicate to their clients. Whether it is calling to wish a “Happy Birthday,” staying up-to-date on current clients’ policies or following up after any traumatic event that may have occurred in a life of a client they serve, they are devoted to serving their clients in any capacity. The sponsored Farmers Insurance logo carries a weight, and the people behind the doors of the Hathaway Agency strive to go further past your average auto, home, life, financial, renters (and more) policy sales.

Where We Began…

When I opened up our first office in Kennesaw, GA in March 2013, we picked a location that was prominent in physical location, but we also wanted to create a space that would become prominent and respected in our community as well as around all the suburbs of Atlanta. We hold a firm belief in the ideals of serving people in every capacity possible and we wanted to create a reputation of being givers and servers in the community, not just another business looking to make a profit off of the local residents for only our benefit.

While I am tremendously proud of all we have accomplished on a professional level, I am also extremely proud of what our staff represents to the community on an individual level. We strive to create a family like atmosphere so that each client we serve feels like they are just as welcome at our dinner table as they are at our office table. Let us help you better understand your coverage options–whether that’s auto, home, life, renters, business insurance, Farmers Financial Solutions and more. Come by and visit us anytime. We are located just outside of the Legacy Park Subdivision on Jiles Road in Kennesaw, GA.

Give me a call at (678) 701-5010 and I’ll be happy to answer any questions you might have.
